Investigators searching for a missing 8-month-old boy began an intensive excavation and search effort Tuesday at a Texas landfill.

“Let me say this, that we do remain hopeful that baby Gabriel is alive,” William McManus, chief of the San Antonio Police Department, said at a news conference at the landfill.

“We are, however, conducting both a missing persons investigation as well as a homicide investigation,” he said, adding that aspects surrounding Gabriel Johnson’s disappearance involve elements of a possible homicide.”

First, it will take at least six days to remove 45 feet of garbage that has piled up since the time investigators believe evidence may have been dumped in the area.”

The two particular judges that force an uncontrolable WTF from many of my co-workers are notorious for their blundering decisions. In their defense, albeit, a short one, they, on rare occassion, make some good decisions. One suffers from Nemethian ideology, and the other seems to come from some biblical tribe from the old testament, namely a Millerrite.

Most recently, this Millerrite released a defendant that had been found guilty of a Class A Felony Child Neglect resulting in death, till her sentencing date in 30 days.  WTF?????

Let’s think about this for a moment. In my state, a Class A Felony carries a mandatory 20 year sentence with not more than 30 years added for aggravating circumstances, and not more than 10 suspended for mitigating circumstances. With that in mind, and knowing that you have 30 days before your fate is revealed, would YOU stick around? I know I wouldn’t. The judge gave her a 30 day head start. The flip side of this perverbial coin is, this Millerrite has put this woman at risk by allowing her release. The case had a lot of public exposure, and with some of the nuts roaming the streets of our fair city, it is not outside the realm of possibility that someone could simply shoot her and get it over with. After all, she stood by and let her boyfriend  abuse her baby to death.

As it stands, this Millerrite would do well to retire as decisions from this bench are all to often extracting a WTF judge from legal professional, and the general populace.

Crown Point - A Lake County judge has sentenced a man to four years in prison for neglect in the death of his girlfriend’s 18-month-old son.

Twenty-two-year-old Jesse Gilman Jr. was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty in October to one count of felony neglect of a dependent. Under a plea agreement, prosecutors dropped charges of murder and battery and a second count of neglect.

A New Twist on Mommie Dearest

ARLINGTON — An Arlington mother accused in the death of her 17-month-old son, who was left in a sweltering SUV last month while she worked, was investigated by child welfare workers twice in Texas and at least once in Michigan before her son died, a Child Protective Services official said Friday.

Child welfare officials in Texas began an investigation in May after being told that Keashia Dyon Matthews left her three children at home without supervision.

But Matthews was allowed to keep her children after she agreed to make sure that they would be cared for while she was at work.

CPS found neglect and took custody, but the courts ordered that custody be restored in September 2003, Van Deusen said.

Mother Beat her to death and then tried to burn her to hide crime!

CROWN POINT, Ind.(AP) – Prosecutors are seeking a life sentence without parole for a babysitter charged with killing a toddler whose body was burned, encased in concrete and dumped in a swampy area near LaPorte.

Tkachik has told police Castillo fatally beat the girl and tried unsuccessly to burn it before it was encased in concrete in a plastic tub.

Anthony Caravello was convicted of rape and murder for a crime he allegedly committed in 1983 at age 15 in Florida. The prosecution sought the death penalty. Now DNA evidence from the crime scene points to another individual and may result in his exoneration. The state is not contesting his release. Caravello has an IQ of 67 and was convicted largely on the basis of his own statements, which he says were obtained from him after beatings during his interrogation. At his sentencing, the judge commented, “I’ll tell you this, Anthony: If the jury had recommended death, I would have had you electrocuted.” Instead, he was sentenced to life. The prosecution is still pursuing the investigation.

Being in the line of work that I am, I am appalled anew every day at how the judicial system goes all out to convict juveniles for crimes that they let adults go free on. WTF JUDGE.
